If anything, this is young Vancouver (maybe a bit of middle Vancouver too, but not the whole city). It wasn't until I moved to San Francisco that I realized that the east side isn't old Vancouver. It's what young Vancouver looks like. I would say that living and working in San Francisco for years has made me more aware of how young and vibrant the west side of Vancouver is. It's true that this is a bit of young Vancouver. For whatever reason, it seems like the east side is where they go to find work. When I see them, I always wonder why they are in my neighborhood, but that's life I guess.
